Here is why excessive assignments are a significant burden: 1. Mental and Physical Wellbeing Too much homework robs students of their essential "downward time." This leads to chronic fatigue, heightened anxiety, and significant sleep deprivation. Without adequate rest, a student’s cognitive development is stifled, making it harder to engage during school hours. 2. The Erosion of Childhood and Hobbies When the "second shift" of school lasts until late evening, students lose the opportunity to develop into well-rounded individuals. This results in: -A lack of physical exercise, contributing to sedentary lifestyles. -Reduced quality time with family and the local community. -Stifled personal growth, as there is simply no time left for music, sport, or creative hobbies. 3. Exacerbating Social Inequality Homework is rarely a level playing field. Students without a quiet space to study, reliable broadband, or parents with the time to assist them inevitably fall behind. Consequently, homework acts as a barrier to social mobility rather than a tool for academic progress. Conclusion In short, excessive homework often kills the natural curiosity of a student. To truly foster success, the educational focus should shift towards high-quality teaching within school hours, allowing the home to remain a sanctuary for rest, play, and personal exploration.
